Macintosh and Sony Cyber-Shot cameras

I made the mistake of buying a Sony Cyber-Shot Digital Still (DSC-WX350) camera last year. After three weeks in Scandinavia, I came home to discover that my camera would not transfer pictures or video to I Photo or I Movie. When I tried installing the Sony/Mac software neither my IMac (10.6.8), or Power Book(10.9.5) would accept it. I found out through further investigation (on Sony) that I needed to have Intel Core in order to use the software. Furthermore, none of this information is included with the instructions that come with the camera. In going to the Sony website to download the Mac program, you discover it will not process to the Mac operating system.

My question is: Is there any way to convert the digital data without the Intel Core processor?

Thank you...I am about to give up on this and put the camera on Craig's List.

What Model iMac do you have?

Does it have an SD slot you can place the camera's Sd card into?

It sounds like your Macs are simply too old to handle the newer Cameras. Its probably not going to be an issue with this camera only.

You may be able to buy a USB SD card reader, and plug it into one of your Macs, to read the photos off the card directly rather than through the camera.
